St. Joseph is a model for all fathers. He was a simple man, a carpenter, a man of little financial wealth. While betrothed to Mary, he learned she was pregnant (and not by him) and offered to separate from her in secret to keep her from been shunned by their community. But when asked by God to step up, he did. He claimed his role of model father and husband by fulfilling all duties to protect, preserve and provide for Mary and Jesus, even in hardship to him. In this piece, I chose to contrast the two humble doves (representative of the sacrifice Mary and Joseph made at the temple altar...a sacrifice only allowed to lower-income Jews) with the wealth of his love for his foster son, Jesus. St. Joseph doesn't get a lot of coverage in the bible, but you can bet he knows his worth.

Painfully shy as a child, Jen was unable to communicate with anyone outside her family except through drawing. Visual language was her first language and she never lost her passion for its ability to communicate for her. There was never a day she "decided" to become an artist. For Jen, there was just no other way to be. Jen Norton is a graduate of Santa Clara University where she earned a Bachelors degree in Fine Art, with a Minor in Business. Jen worked as a Graphic Designer in the Silicon Valley where developing marketing communications materials helped push her from purely personal expression to full conversation.
